On Sunday September 26 40-year-old David Puckett wasinjured in a hit and run accident in Texarkana TX. The accident occurred on East Mall Drive atapproximately 12:50 a.m. According tolocal news reports Puckett had run out of gas and he was walking along theside of the road to find help when he was hit by an eastbound pickuptruck. The driver fled the scene and hasnot yet been located. Puckett was takento University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences for treatment and is currentlyin critical condition. The accidentremains under investigation as police try to identify the driver.

On Wednesday September 29 33-year-old Carl WayneNorwood Jr. was severely injured in a hit and run accident in Bryan TX. The accident happened at approximately 12:15a.m. on East Texas 21. According tolocal news stories Norwood was crossing the street when he was allegedly hitby the driver of a pickup truck. Thedriver of the truck did not know what she had hit so she drove home and thencalled police. When police arrived atthe woman’s home they arrested her on suspicion of intoxication assaultthough blood alcohol tests are pending. Norwood suffered a collapsed lung severe lacerations and a puncture woundto his head. He was taken to St. JosephRegional Health Center in critical condition. Police are still investigating the accident.
One woman injured in collision with school bus near Montalba, TX.
On Wednesday September 29 a woman was injured in anaccident involving a Palestine Independent School District bus near MontalbaTX. The accident happened just after5:00 p.m. on CR 2409. According to localnews reports the school bus was northbound while the woman was southbound ina Ford Focus. A police report indicatesthat the school bus driver allegedly failed to stay completely in his lane andcollided with the side of the Focus. Thedriver of the Focus was taken to East Texas Medical Center for treatment. Neither her name nor her condition wereimmediately available. Police are stillinvestigating the accident. So far nocharges have been filed.
Big rig truck overturns in Fort Worth, TX, spilling pipes all over interstate 20.
On Monday September 27 a big rig truck overturned inFort Worth TX and spilled pipes along the interstate. The accident occurred at approximately 5:00p.m. on Interstate 35W where the interstate crosses over Interstate 20. Early news reports about the accidentindicate that the driver of a big rig truck somehow lost control and hisvehicle overturned spilling large metal pipes onto the interstate. Some of the pipes rolled off and fell ontoI-20 below. A school bus collided withthe metal pipes but no children were on board. There have been no confirmed injuries in the accident but twoambulances were called to the scene. Police continue to the investigate the collision.
Seven cars and one tractor trailer involved in chain reaction crash in Providence, UT.
On Tuesday September 14 there was a chain reactioncrash in Providence UT. Seven cars andone big rig truck were involved in the accident that happened at theintersection between Utah State Route 165 and South 1200. Local news stories state that atapproximately 6:30 p.m. the driver of a big rig truck ran a red light andcrashed into multiple vehicles in the intersection starting a chain reactionaccident. The truck then rolled overafter colliding with a utility pole. Fuel leaked from the truck after the accident causing it to burst intoflames but the driver was able to crawl out of the wreckage and escaped withonly minor injuries. The full extent ofvictims’ injuries in the accident was not immediately available though oneperson was reportedly injured and rushed to a nearby hospital with moderateinjuries. The names of the victims werenot released. The accident remains underinvestigation. Police suspect that chargeswill be filed against the truck driver.

Over the weekend a Starr County TX couple wasseriously injured in a hit and run accident. The accident occurred in Expressway 83. According to local police reports the driver of a white pickup truckheading eastbound on the highway swerved across the center line of the road andcollided head-on with another vehicle. Acouple inside the other car was critically injured and rushed to a nearbyhospital. Witnesses at the scene reportthat the driver of the pickup truck was picked up by a brown vehicle and fledthe scene. Police are still trying tolocate and identify the driver. On Monday September 27 a coach and two students wereinjured after being struck by a car in Houston TX. The accident happened at the intersectionbetween West Alabama and Mandell at approximately 4:30 p.m. The coach and two students were part of the LanierMiddle School cross country track team and they were running along their usualroute when the accident happened. According to local news reports as they were crossing the crosswalkthey were hit by a passing car. Thecoach was taken to Memorial Herman Hospital in unknown condition while thestudents were taken to Texas Children’s Hospital with possibleconcussions. The victims’ names were notimmediately available. Police do not yetknow exactly how the accident happened but the investigation is ongoing. Seven cars and one big rig truck collided in Dallas TXon Friday September 24. The accidentoccurred just before noon on LBJ Freeway close to Coit. Early news reports about the accidentindicate that seven cars and one tractor trailer collided and blocked most ofthe freeway but few details about the accident are known. The tractor trailer ended up in theinterstate’s median. 11-year-old boy hurt in hit and run accident in parking lot in Burleson, TX.
On Friday September 17 an 11-year-old boy was injuredin a hit and run accident in Burleson TX. The accident occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. at a Walmart parkinglot on West Wilshire Boulevard. According to local police reports the boy was riding a bicycle in theparking lot when he was hit by a pickup truck and fell to the ground. The driver of the pickup truck slowly circledthe parking lane drove past the boy again and then fled the parking lot. The boy was taken to a Fort Worth hospitalfor treatment and is expected to make a full recovery. Police are still trying to locate andidentify the driver of the pickup truck.
Two workers hurt in workplace accident at BP refinery in Texas City, TX.
Two workers were injured on Tuesday September 21 atthe BP refinery in Texas City TX. Theaccident happened at the refinery at roughly 4:00 p.m. A spokesperson from BP stated that twoworkers suffered severe steam burns with one receiving burns on his arm legand torso. Both workers have since beenhospitalized but their names and their conditions were not immediatelyreleased. No other details about the accidentare currently known but police and officials from BP are investigating theincident trying to figure out how the two men were hurt.
