On Monday September 27 a coach and two students wereinjured after being struck by a car in Houston TX. The accident happened at the intersectionbetween West Alabama and Mandell at approximately 4:30 p.m. The coach and two students were part of the LanierMiddle School cross country track team and they were running along their usualroute when the accident happened. According to local news reports as they were crossing the crosswalkthey were hit by a passing car. Thecoach was taken to Memorial Herman Hospital in unknown condition while thestudents were taken to Texas Children’s Hospital with possibleconcussions. The victims’ names were notimmediately available. Police do not yetknow exactly how the accident happened but the investigation is ongoing. They have released no word yet on any chargesfiled against the driver.

I was actually a couple cars back from this wreck, one of the first on the scene, and helped administer CPR on the victims. The truck driver was going way too fast, but it was actually his trailer that swung around and hit the suv, the semi-truck ended in the median.
