Dallas Vosburg in Critical Condition After Crosswalk Accident in Colorado

15-year-old Dallas Vosburg remains in critical condition from injuries sustained as a result of being struck on the head by a falling stop sign on Tuesday October 12 2010 in Littleton Colorado. According to authorities that responded to the accident scene a 16-year-old driver of a pickup truck rear-ended a Plymouth sedan and then hit a stop sign. The stop sign fell on Dakota Ridge High School student Vosburg as she was crossing the crosswalk. It was unknown at the time of the report whether or not the truck also hit Vosburg. Vosburg was taken to Swedish Hospital to be treated for her critical injuries. The 16-year-old driver of the pickup truck was cited for careless driving resulting in injury and for driving without a valid license.

Accidents involving young drivers are sadly all too common often due to their inexperience behind the wheel. However this should not allow for them to be careless in their driving as accidents causing injury can occur as a result. When such accidents occur it may be difficult for a family to think about pursuing legal action against such a negligent party but it may be in their best interests to do so especially if medical bills are mounting. As such the family can contact their family attorney to see what legal options they may be able to pursue in light of this unfortunate accident.

Two Pedicab Passengers Seriously Injured in SUV Collision in Austin, Texas

Two pedicab passengers were seriously injured when an SUV struck the pedicab they were in while in Austin Texas on Friday October 8. The two passengers were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Identifying liable parties in a personal injury accident can sometimes prove to be a challenging task. This holds especially true when there are scant details available from the news story or when the results of a full investigation into the accident have yet to be made known. As such jumping to conclusions about liability is seldom a beneficial practice. However the injured passengers in this particular accident may be able to bring a personal injury claim against a number of different parties depending on the actual events that caused or help to cause the accident. The pedicab driver may have been negligent in their driving or in providing for his or her passengers safety. If the pedicab driver worked for a company the company could also be held liable for their employees negligence. Furthermore the SUV driver could be liable for simple negligence causing the accident even if the driver was only momentarily distracted. In other words there could be multiple liable parties that may all hold a certain degree of liability in this accident. As such the injured parties could contact their respective lawyers in order to pursue legal action against each negligent party so that they could stand to receive compensation that could prove to be beneficial in regards to their medical bills.

Abbott Laboratories Withdraws Diet Drug Meridia

The United States Food and Drug Administrations has requested that Abbott Laboratories voluntarily withdraw the diet drug known as Meridia. This comes after less than a month after the drug failed to pass one of the F.D.As safety advisory boards. Abbott Labs has complied and will begin withdrawing Meridia from the market. The reasons cited for the withdrawal are clinical trial data indicating an increased risk of heart attack and stroke.

In some instances such as the withdrawal noted above the promises of a drug may not be outweighed by the detrimental effects it may have upon a person. Losing a few pounds likely isnt worth an increased risk of suffering a heart attack or stroke. As such people that have unknowingly consumed Meridia or any other type of drug without previous knowledge of its harmful side effects may be eligible to pursue a product liability claim against the manufacturer of the drug in which theyre encouraged to talk to their family attorney to see what if any legal options may exist in order for them to seek compensation for their injury or loss depending on the circumstances of the claim.

Stranded Driver Injured in Taxicab Accident in Dallas, TX

A stranded driver that was filling up the gas tank of a Ford Explorer on the side of the road at Lamar Street in downtown Dallas on Saturday October 2 was struck by a Buick SUV that was itself struck by a taxicab that was taking seven passengers to the Texas State Fair. The unidentified man was seriously injured when the taxi struck the SUV causing it to ram into him. The stranded driver was taken to a local hospital in critical condition due to a head injury. The taxicab driver and the SUV driver suffered minor injuries.

Accidents can happen with no warning as it appears to have occurred in this particular accident scene. While the particulars of this accident scene have yet to be disclosed the news article also states that the taxicab driver went through an intersection before hitting the SUV which then hit the stranded driver. It would appear that the taxicab driver could then be held liable for this particular accident if it can be proven that the taxicab driver was negligent in his or her duties to provide for public safety. As such the injured man could seek compensation for his injury from both the taxicab driver and the drivers employer. If both parties can be proven to have been a proximate cause of the accident then can both be held liable for the injuries sustained by the stranded driver. If the stranded driver believes that the taxicab drivers negligence played a part in causing his injury he should likely consult with his family attorney in order to be apprised of his possible legal options to pursue compensation for his injury.

Austin Construction Worker Injured in Trench Accident

A construction worker in his 20s had to be hospitalized on Thursday October 7 when he was involved in a trench accident while working with a boring machine in Austin Texas. The accident occurred at a bridge near William Cannon Drive in Onion Creek Park. The construction worker had to have part of his leg amputated before being taken to University Medical Center in Brackenridge. Further details regarding the accident have not been released.

Personal injuries can run the gamut from the simple to the severe. In the accident case above the injuries sustained sound quite severe. While assessing liability in this particular accident case should be left until a proper investigation has been made into the cause of the accident there can be more than a few possibilities that the injured workers lawyer will likely look into so that the worker can stand to receive compensation for his injuries. For instance if the mans company did not employ proper safety procedures at this construction site and that lack of precautionary measures led to this unfortunate accident the injured worker may have grounds for a personal injury claim against his employer. While I am not stating that this is what happened it is one possibility of many that could have contributed to this accident. As such the injured worker can seek the help of his attorney so that the truth of the accident site can be fully found out.
