Monday, July 22nd 2013 — Tom Spears was walking with his grandson in the parking lot of Evans Hardware in Inez, KY when he and his grandson were both allegedly struck by a suspect fleeing authorities. Nicholas Marcum was identified as the suspect fleeing Lawrence County Sheriff Office officials when he struck the man and his grandson.
Scene of the Accident:
It is not clear from initial reports the nature or severity of injuries Spears sustained in the accident, nor was it clear where he was treated for those injuries. The man’s grandson, Shawn Messer, sustained a broken pelvis and facial injuries in the accident, but is expected to be okay.
