Sunday, July 28th 2013 — Josh Newton was identified in reports as the jogger who was hit by an SUV in Corpus Christi, TX on Sunday. The driver of that vehicle, described only as being female and driving a vehicle with noticeable damage, fled the scene of the accident after first driving around the block and passing Newton again.
Scene of the Accident:
Newton’s girlfriend was luckily nearby on a bicycle, and was able to tend to Newton’s dislocated shoulder and multiple cuts and scrapes sustained in the accident. It is not clear whether or not Newton was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries, or if he was treated on scene; reports make no mention of his treatment.
