Three children were injured in an SUV accident that occurred on Thursday Nov. 11 around 10:45 p.m. when a Ford Expedition SUV driven by Miguel Torres Sr. 34 struck a light pole in Dallas Texas in the neighborhood of Pleasant Grove. According to authorities Torres ejected his 5-year-old daughter from the vehicle drove to a nearby park then fled on foot with his 11-month-old daughter leaving his sons 9 and 6 in the car. Torres then dropped off the 11-month-old at his mother-in-laws residence where the child was picked up by an unknown person. According to sources Torres had been drinking that night. The children were taken to Childrens Medical Center in Dallas where the younger boy was listed in critical condition with severe head trauma.

If drinking and driving was in fact involved in this saddening accident there are laws in Texas known as dram shop laws that are used to hold negligent alcohol-serving establishments like bars and restaurants accountable for their actions should their negligent behavior have contributed to this drunken driving accident.
