-UPDATE- The identity of the man injured in this accident has since been released. Charles McHenry, 24, sustained knee injuries in the accident, and is expected to be okay. He was treated for his injuries at Hays Medical Center, but his admission condition was not available.
Monday, June 24th 2013– Very little information is available regarding a fatal oil rig collapse in Trego County, KS that killed one worker and seriously injured another. The site is owned by Horizontal Well Drillers out of Oklahoma. The injured man was airlifted to an undisclosed hospital for treatment of the injuries he had sustained in the accident.
Scene of the Accident:
It is not clear the nature and severity of the injuries the man sustained, but due to the nature of the deceased man’s accident, it is likely a crush related injury. Investigation is currently underway, and more information is expected to be released after that investigation has concluded.
