Authorities from the Texas State Trooper’s Office have not yet identified the teenagers injured after being run over in Corpus Christi, Texas on Saturday, April 6th, 2013. Police and accident investigators believe Manuel Gonzales did not see the two teenagers sunbathing behind his truck when he decided the leave. He started the truck and backed over the torsos of both girls.

According to the report, one of the girls sustained massive injuries in the accident and was transported by emergency response personnel via helicopter to Spohn Memorial Hospital where she was last listed in serious condition. The other girl was also transported to Spohn where hospital staff also listed her in serious condition. Manuel Gonzales was arrested and currently faces charges of intoxication assault stemming from the accident. The investigation into the accident is currently active and ongoing by personnel from local and state agencies. Authorities hope that any eyewitnesses to the accident come forward as soon as possible in order to aid investigators in better understanding the nature of the accident that hospitalized two people. Police hope more eyewitnesses will come forward in an effort to paint a clearer picture of the series of events that culminated in two peoples’ serious injuries.
