Baytown, TX — A small, single-engine Cessa plane crashed near Market Street and J.B. Leferve Road on Saturday night (March 16) and injured the pilot. According to the DPS and the Baytown Fire Department’s reports, pilot Linda Shackleford, 57, was injured when the engine on her Cessna failed and she was forced to crash-land in a wooded area.
Shackleford was flying to La Porte from Mississippi that evening when the engine failure happened. The cause of the engine failure was not immediately clear, however. Shackleford was taken to nearby hospital via medical helicopter and was last reported to be in stable condition. The FAA is investigating the accident further.
