Willis, TX — A motorcycle accident on Thursday night, March 14, left the rider dead and his passenger injured in Willis. Authorities said that Patricia Buscemi was a passenger on Mark Cordero’s motorcycle and was injured when they were involved in a wreck with a Ford Contour pizza delivery car.
According to the accident reports, Cordero was riding west along Stewart Road/FM 1097 and the Ford Contour was headed east at about 8:00 p.m. As the two vehicles drew closer to Big Horn Trail, the Ford attempted to turn and drove into Cordero’s path. Unable to avoid the wreck, Cordero’s motorcycle hit the Contour and slid along the road. Though Cordero was ejected from the bike, Buscemi stayed attached and was critically injured by the wreck. She was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in the Woodlands to be treated while Cordero was declared dead on the scene. The cause of the accident is still being investigated, but police do no believe that alcohol was involved.
