A woman driving a box truck was sent to UMC in Lubbock, TX on Thursday morning (February 28) after she was in an accident with an 18-wheeler. 30-year old Jamie Cain was identified as the injured driver of the box truck and Cynthia Taylor, 57, was identified as the driver of the semi-truck. The accident happened on 66th Street at Slaton Road.
LPD reported that Cain was turning left from eastbound Slaton Road onto 66th Street at about 8:20 a.m. on Thursday morning when she was hit by a Taylor’s semi-truck, which was westbound on 66th Street. The wreck caused Cain’s box truck to spin around and she was partially ejected from the cab through the passenger’s window. Paramedics rushed to the scene and took Cain to UMC for treatment of serious but non life-threatening injuries. Taylor was uninjured, reports said. As the investigation continues, more details will be released about how the accident happened and if either driver was at fault.
