Of the two paramedics injured in Lubbock, TX on Monday night after their ambulance overturned, 41-year old Kim Pelletier is still listed in serious condition at UMC. Police said that Pelletier was critically injured in the accident on February 25, which happened on Loop 289 near Slide Road.
Scene of the Accident
Pelletier was driving an EMS ambulance east on Loop 289 with fellow paramedic Christopher Colpitts, 29, as a passenger when she lost control near Slide Road. They were responding to a call, reports said. The ambulance slid into the concrete median and overturned, sliding on its driver’s side. Both Colpitts and Pelletier were taken to UMC with critical injuries, but Colpitts was upgraded to satisfactory condition as of Tuesday night while Pelletier remains in serious condition. The cause of the accident hasn’t been officially stated, but icy weather may have been a factor.
