Cameron, TX — There was a major accident last month outside of Cameron (which is southeast of Temple) that involved four Temple High School buses and an 18-wheeler truck. The accident happened near Cameron and left a total of 15 students with varying injuries — none serious or life-threatening.
According to the news reports, the accident happened on Friday evening, November 20, 2015.
Four school buses from Cameron were driving along FM 485 that evening at about 6:30 p.m., transporting students for a playoff football game.
As they were driving, however, one of the buses in the front of the line accidentally crashed into an 18-wheeler truck and slammed on its brakes, causing the other buses to hit each other.
As a result, 15 students were taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Right now, it’s not clear why the first bus hit the 18-wheeler.
