Susquehanna County, PA — Traffic director Mark Smith was injured while he was flagging traffic on Route 29 just outside of Montrose on Monday morning, November 9.
Smith was apparently wearing a hard hat and bright clothing when he was hit by a Ford Escape. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Other workers say cars on the road aren’t slowing down in the construction zone the way they should be. They say they are signs all along the road leading up to the site, but they are being ignored.
Police are still investigating. The current state of the driver is unknown.
