Hampton, VA – Around 10:30 a.m. Friday, 5 people were injured in a 2-car accident at the corner of Shelton and Old Buckroe Rds. in Hampton, VA.
It looks like a 2001 Lincoln struck a 2006 Chevy at the intersection. As a result of the accident five people suffered non-life-threatening injuries. All 5 were taken to Riverside Regional Medical Center. There is no word concerning their current condition.
Mark Bonniville, 45, was cited for failure to yield the right of way, but news reports do not make it clear which vehicle he was driving.
Also of interest is that neighborhood activists have apparently been petitioning the city to address traffic issues in this neighborhood. Of particular concern to the residents is the poor visibility at intersections and excessive speed of cars traveling through the area. There is no word if either poor visibility or excessive speed played a role in this particular accident.
