Vero Beach, Florida — There was a work-related fatality reported in Vero Beach early in June that involved a man on a lawnmower. The accident happened on Sunday, June 7, 2015 and the man’s name was released as Antonio Gaspar.
Not many details about what happened are being released, but from our understanding of the OSHA reports, Gaspar was mowing the grass on some property that Sunday when his lawnmower accidentally slid off the grass and into a lake.
Gaspar was killed by the mishap and it doesn’t look like any other injuries have been reported. Presumably, the lawnmower was a large, riding model, but that hasn’t been clear up yet.
Right now, it looks like no Florida police or FHP workers are investigating this, though I do know that OSHA has opened an investigation into Austin Outdoor, the company Gaspar was working for at the time.
