Poplar Bluff, MO — There was a serious accident along Highway 67 this past Monday (May 11, 2015) just north of Poplar Bluff that involved an 18-wheeler truck and a large pickup. Peggy Hutson, 79, was seriously injured in this accident and her husband, 82-year old Junior Hutson was also injured, but to a lesser degree.
The police said that the Hutson’s Ford F-350 pickup truck was in a wreck along Highway 67 this past Monday with an 18-wheeler. They had been driving north along Highway 67, about 1/2 of a mile north of Poplar Bluff, this Monday around 12:45 p.m. when they accidentally rear-ended an 18-wheeler.
The accident left Peggy Hutson, who was a passenger in the Ford truck, with critical injuries while Junior Hutson was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The 18-wheeler’s driver was identified as Robert Neal, 37, and he was not harmed by the accident, despite not wearing his seat belt. The cause of this accident isn’t quite clear, though the MSHP said they’d investigate some more.
