Two drivers were suspected of driving under the influence when they collided with each other head on in the evening hours of December 30th, 2012. Authorities believe the driver of a Nissan pickup collided with the rear of one vehicle on New Laredo Highway. The female driver of that vehicle sustained minor injuries. The Nissan pickup then allegedly fled the scene and collided with another pickup truck a short distance down the road.

The drivers of both vehicles were hospitalized with minor immediate injuries following the collision. Officers responding to the accidents detected the odor of alcohol on both pickup drivers, and also found open containers in both trucks. Both drivers are expected to face criminal charges, but none have been filed at the time of writing.
