Dallas, TX — A woman was in a wreck caused by a red-light running driver this past week in Dallas and ultimately died from her injuries. Police identified the woman as Christina Miller and said that this might be a “hit-and-run” accident. It happened at the intersection of Buckner Boulevard and Samuell Boulevard.
If the news reports are correct, it appears that Christina Miller was driving her car along Buckner when another driver ran their red light at Samuell Boulevard. Miller swerved to avoid the car, but lost control and drove off the road, hitting a pole.
The accident left her with fatal injuries and she later passed away, despite some Good Samaritans who stopped to help rescue Miller form her vehicle.
The Dallas Police said that the driver who allegedly caused the accident by running the red light did not stay at the scene and is being searched for.
Note: A GoFundMe account has been set up here to help the family of Christina Miller, if any of our readers would like to help.

Commentary:
If someone runs a red light and causes an accident, does that mean they’re still liable? It’s a fair question, especially since this accident didn’t appear to be a “collision” in the traditional sense. The bottom line is that, yes, any kind of negligence that causes injury or death to another person is usually grounds for a civil claim against that person — not to mention criminal charges or traffic citations by the police.
If this driver is ever found, then they should be investigated and the police should also look into why they drove away. Perhaps this was an honest mistake (I doubt it), but people usually flee scenes of accidents because they’re either scared and panicked or they’re trying to hide something.
