Dyer Brook, ME — A truck driver was injured in an accident that took place in Dyer Brook, Maine, on Tuesday, March 17, 2015. The accident happened on Interstate 95, near mile marker 282.
According to local reports, a semi-truck being driven by Beltier Martin was traveling south on I-95 and had passed several vehicles. As the truck was coming back into the other lane, it lost control and jackknifed.
Hamilton, who was driving his own semi behind Martin’s, was not able to avoid a collision and crashed into the back of Martin’s truck. Both trucks then drove off the road before coming to a stop.
No serious injuries were reported following the crash. Hamilton complained to authorities of neck and shoulder pain.
Because of inclement weather, the speed limit in the area at the time was 45 mph. It’s unclear how fast Martin was traveling before the accident.

Commentary
The victim in this accident mentioned to emergency workers following the crash that he was feeling some neck and shoulder pain. Now, those sorts of things may not seem like a big deal in the moment, but if they occur following an accident, they need to be paid attention to. Injuries following an accident can be like soreness after a good workout. Maybe you don’t feel it immediately afterwards, or even a few hours afterwards. But you wake up the next day, or even the day after, and you realize that something isn’t right. The long and short of it is, this is something that needs to be taken care of. Ignoring these sorts of things can lead to bigger problems down the line.
