Drew County, Arkansas — A man from Dumas was killed near Monticello in Drew County over the weekend, the Arkansas State Police confirmed. They said that 59-year old Gary Jaggers died along Highway 83 after his car was in a rollover accident on Saturday, 12-27-2014.
The accident happened around 7:45 p.m. in the evening during wet and rainy weather. Mr. Jaggers had been driving north along U.S. Highway 83 that evening in his Toyota when he lost control for unknown reasons.
His car swerved off the side of the highway and proceeded to hit a tree. Paramedics were called to the scene shortly thereafter, but Jaggers had died immediately.
The accident is still being investigated, though no others were in the car with Jaggers at the time and no other injuries were reported. Police said they’re going to keep investigating, though they suspect wet weather may have been a factor here.
