Fillmore County, Minnesota — Nearly two weeks ago, there was an accident outside of Fountain in rural Fillmore County that left a Wisconsin truck driver injured. Police identified the truck driver as Michael Vanblaricom, 52, and said that he hurt when his 18-wheeler truck overturned on Highway 52.
This happened at about 6:15 p.m. in the evening. Mr. Vanblaricom was driving this 18-wheeler truck along a portion of Highway 52 that was particularly curvy, as you can see from the map below, when he lost control several miles north of Fountain.
His truck ended up overturning, the police said, and it landed in a ditch off the highway. Michael Vanblaricom was taken to Mayo Clinic Hospital nearby, where his condition was listed as “non life-threatening.” It’s not clear why his big rig lost control, but hopefully a more thorough investigation will shed some more light.
