Dallas, TX — Delvin Washington was one of three teenagers who were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle accident in Dallas, Texas, on Thursday, May 29, 2014. The accident took place in the 2500 block of West Illinois Avenue, around 4:00 in the afternoon.
Washington and two friends were on their way to graduation rehearsal at Adamson High School when the accident took place. The other two students were identified as Devin Harper and Kevin Ramos.
Reports offer slightly different accounts as to how the accident took place. One report says that there were three cars filled with students on their way to the highschool, and that they were traveling at a high rate of speed. One car cut another off, lost control and crashed into a light pole. Another report says that one of the cars swerved to avoid hitting an 18-wheeler.
Emergency workers had to help extricate Washington and the other two boys from their vehicle. Washington’s road to recovery has been a tough one. He was in a coma for 2 1/2 months following the accident, and is currently undergoing a strict physical therapy regimen.
