Oxon Hill, MD — Authorities in Oxon Hill, Maryland, are saying that the two-vehicle crash they responded to on the night of Friday, October 10, 2014, is one of the worst the town has ever seen.
According to reports, an Acura was traveling along Livingston Road and stopped at a red light at the Livingston Terrace intersection. A Mercedes traveling behind the Acura failed to stop and crashed into it. Five people, including two children, were inside the Acura when the accident occurred. All except for the driver were killed.
One person inside the Mercedes was also killed. The driver is in critical condition and a second passenger suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Reports say that first responders have had to seek counseling, because what they saw in the accident was so troubling.
At this time, why the Mercedes failed to stop is unknown. Police re continuing to investigate.

If this accident happened the way it’s being reported, then there’s no question as to who’s going to bear liability here. Drivers have to watching the road ahead of them. Period. And if the driver of the Mercedes can’t be bothered to do that, then he needs to be punished to full extent of the law. Not only did he show a huge disregard for the people he crashed into that night, but also the two passengers inside his car. It’s important to remember that a driver has a responsibility to all of these people. And unfortunately, this driver failed every single one of them.
