Mars, PA — The driver of a cement truck was taken to Allegheny General Hospital after colliding with a dump truck on Route 228 in Mars, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, July 29, 2014.
According to reports, the cement truck was traveling westbound on 228 and the dump truck was traveling in the oncoming lane. A pickup truck traveling ahead of the dump truck made a left turn, causing both the dump and cement trucks to slam on their brakes, which caused the collision.
The cement truck went down an embankment and crashed. The driver was taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries. There’s been no word on injuries sustained by the driver of the dump truck.
Police are still investigating the accident. It’s unclear at this point if the driver of the pickup truck was driving recklessly, and if that played a role in the accident.
