Representatives from Chrysler state that certain seven-seat Durango models were installed with the wrong airbag occupant restraint control module. The company will replace without cost to consumers the defective modules starting in September of this year. The recall applies to all Dodge Durango models that were produced from April 11th of this year to July 20th.
Chrysler states that the recall is necessary because if the vehicle is involved in a collision to the rear side of the Durango the air bag may not deploy as intended and will increase the risk of injury to any occupant behind the second row of the vehicle. The recall will affect 1500 Chrysler Dodge Durango models.
