According to news reports a train accident on July 27 2012 in Boomer WV left one man with severe injuries. 35-year old Christopher Manley was later identified by authorities as the man who was struck by a Norfolk-Southern Railroad Company train near Boomer.

Police did not say why Manley was on the tracks but disclosed that he sustained severe injuries to his lower extremities. He was listed in stable condition at a local hospital in Charleston and authorities are expected to update as necessary. The accident is allegedly still under investigation.
