According to Beaumont TX news reports an accident on June 17 2012 left one man in a coma and an unnamed woman with head trauma. Police said that Douglas Dommert was struck while riding a motorcycle and suffered severe head trauma leaving him in a coma as of June 27 2012. They reported that Dommert was riding a Harley-Davidson along East Cardinal with an unnamed woman as a passenger when the bike was struck by a Honda Accord at about 2:48 in the morning.

Police said that the Accords driver was identified as 44-year old Robert Pastorella and he was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the weck. After the Accord rear-ended Dommerts bike both he and the woman were thrown off the bike and suffered severe head trauma. Dommert was taken to the St. Elizabeth Hospital and was in a coma. The womans condition was not released. Pastorella was arrested police said and charged with intoxication assault.
