Kerrville, TX — A motorcyclist was injured in an accident in Kerrville, Texas, on Monday, June 2, 2014. The accident took place in the 1400 block of Sidney Baker Street.
The motorcyclist — who has not been identified — was injured when van belonging to the Alpine Terrace Skilled Nursing Home changed lanes in what reports are calling “an unsafe manner.” The motorcyclist performed a “lay down” maneuver, hoping to avoid the collision, but was still injured. There’s been no word on his current condition.
The accident is still being investigated.

Commentary
There are a few things that could have happened here. It’s possible that the driver of the van just wasn’t paying attention, and changed lanes thinking that no one else was there. Motorcycles are fairly small compared to other vehicles, and it’s possible the van just didn’t see him. However, this accident is the perfect illustration for why people should do a better job looking around then, even when they think there are no other vehicles close by. Now, if the van is found to have caused the accident, it will be up to them to make it right.
