Commentary:
If this accident turns out to be alcohol related as the news article suggests, I highly recommend determining the whereabouts of the driver before the accident. If the driver was drinking at a bar, restaurant, nightclub, or purchased alcohol at a beer or liquor store, there could be a liquor liability claim depending on how the facts line up. Liquor liability laws are laws that hold these types of businesses to a higher standard than before, and allows for bars to be punished when their customer leaves after being over-served, which means providing alcohol to a person with obvious signs of intoxication.
