Schertz, TX — A family in Schertz, Texas, had their home destroyed after an 18-wheeler crashed into it and burst into flames on Friday, May 23, 2014. The accident occurred on Pfeil Road, near Interstate 10.
According to reports, an 18-wheeler exiting I-10 drove onto Pfeil Road and straight into Rosa Shaw’s home. The truck caught fire, which quickly spread to the rest of the house, burning it down.
Although the truck driver died in the accident, Shaw’s entire family survived. At the time of the accident, her husband was outside the house, and her children were next door with their grandmother.
The name of the truck driver hasn’t been released. At this time, the cause of the accident is unknown.

Commentary
While it’s a tragedy that the truck driver was killed in the accident, it’s a miracle that the family survived. There are still so many unanswered questions here, that it’ll be tough to make sense of things until the police investigation is completed. However, from the look of things, it’s fairly obvious that the trucking company is responsible for the victims losing their home. That’s something that they’re going to need to make right.
