According to news reports roughly 17000 units of Bowflexs SelectTech 1090 Dumbbells were recalled due to a faulty design. The company said that the weights feature a dial to select how much weight to be used but that the dial can fail and cause injury. The reports said that the cumulative weight can total 90 pounds.
The company stated that if the dial fails the weights attached to the dumbbell can fall off and injure the user. Bowflex said that 16 users reported product failure and reports said that Bowflex acknowledged 3 reports of injuries related to the product failure. The injuries occurred when the weights hurt the users feet or legs. Affected consumers may contact Nautilus for replacements or repairs.
