A 40-year-old Kansas man was killed and three people were injured when two vehicles crashed in Northeast El Paso today.
The names of the victims were not immediately available.
The crash was reported at 6:19 a.m. near the Edge of Texas Street and U.S. 54 close to the Edge of Texas restaurant.
Emergency workers had to use the jaws of life to get the victims out of the vehicles.
According to police the 66-year-old Hispanic female driving a 1996 Ford Escort was traveling South on US 54 when she turned left onto State Line Road in front of a 1997 Chevy Silverado pickup truck traveling North on U.S. 54 causing a collision.
A 40-year-old Hispanic male front seat passenger in the Escort died on the scene while the driver and a 11-year-old Hispanic girl traveling in the back seat were taken to an area hospital with unknown injuries. The lone male driver of the pickup a 25-year-old Hispanic male was also transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
Police said the three people in the Ford wagon were traveling from Dodge City Kansas.
