GLOVERSVILLE, NY — One man has died after a serious accident in Gloversville, New York on Sunday, April 27th, 2014, according to the report from the Leader-Herald.
New York State Police have said that they suspect Doug Edwards was killed when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a delivery truck that was parked on Spring Street at around 1:00 on Friday afternoon.

Doug Edwards was taken by EMS personnel to a nearby hospital where he died two days after his arrival.
Local authorities are currently assisting state agencies with the crash investigation.
Commentary:
Whenever a victim collides with a parked commercial vehicle, be it in the shoulder of the highway or on a residential road, I cant help but wonder if the commercial vehicle was legally parked at the time of the accident. The news makes it sound like this vehicle was a delivery truck making a stop. If this was intended to be a quick stop, the driver may have parked illegally to rush something up to a door quickly when the accident happened. If this turns out to be the case, the delivery company could be faced with some serious questions and liability.
