Commentary:
Many details can be lost in the chaos of an accident investigation because police are busy trying to determine what happened in the collision, while their best to document the details, all while clearing the road of the accident. This is why many police reports concerning accidents like this one are found to be incorrect or incomplete. People assume that police reports are definitive and infallable, when in reality these reports are discredited during further investigation, which its why it is always important to conduct a independent investigation to counteract possibly incorrect details reported by police.
