Commentary:
Whenever a news article suggests that a tire-blowout is behind an accident, it never fails to garner my attention. Many are completely unaware that tires are comprised of two parts glued together, as opposed to one large portion of formed rubber. In actuality the tread of the tire is glued to the sidewall. This is where the breakdown generally occurs. Either the tread is not adhered properly to the sidewall which caused the tire to spin apart, or the glue simply is not up to standard, resulting in the tires failure. Either way, the manufacturer could be liable for the accident if a defective tire is to blame for the accident, but the tire, and all the other evidence must be properly inspected and preserved, which makes time very very important in a situation like this one.
