According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram a man was injured in a hit-and-run accident in Irving Texas. The wreck occurred around 2 p.m. Saturday February 25 when 18-year-old Ronald Ellis was walking along the service road of Texas 183. He was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital where he was listed in serious condition. Police believe they are looking for a Ford van that is missing a passenger-side mirror.

Commentary
Ive said in other blogs that I am particularly frustrated by hit-and-run for a number of accidents and that typically their cause is because of a driver facing other issues. Not only is evidence more than likely being tampered with (indeed Irving police are working with local repair shops to find this vehicle) but the probable criminal charges that may have been filed at the time of the accident may be depleted (certainly failing to stop and render aid is still on the table though). In situations like these a victim is helped by any investigation into their accident. Therefore a third party should work in collaboration with the police to not only identify a driver but determine liability. This determination will go a long way in strategizing for civil remedies moving forward.
