Officials from the Illinois State Police have not yet released the names of the eight people in a single-vehicle accident in Chicago, IL on Sunday, October 6th, 2013, according to The Huffington Post. Police believe eight people, six children and two adults, were hurt when the vehicle they occupied experienced a loss of control for reasons currently under investigation while driving on Interstate 57.

According to the statement released by officials, eight people unspecified injuries in the accident and were transported by emergency response personnel to a nearby hospital where an update on their conditions were not made immediately available by hospital staff. The driver of the offending vehicle currently faces drunk driving related charges stemming from the accident. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
