According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission a recall was issued July 28 for Fisher-Prices Little People Builders Load n Go toys. The toys were sold between June 2009 and July 2011 and hold product number P89777. The CPSC reports the handle of the wagon poses a serious laceration risk for children and have recalled the approximately 210000 sold units.
Please contact Fisher-Price if you believe you own one of the recalled toys.
Commentary
Manufacturers will often issue recalls in an attempt to mitigate further injury to their consumers. While this may offer short-term difficulty for the company the long-term ramifications of child injuries are serious. Please check your childrens toys if you have purchased one of these units in the last 2 years.
