Representatives from the Rhode Island State Police have released the name of the man killed in a pedestrian accident that happened in Pawtucket, RI on Sunday, October 27th, 2013, according to ABC6. Police currently have reason to believe Emmanuel Martinez was killed when he was struck by a passing car while walking along or trying to cross Interstate 95. Martinez was hit by a car, then thrown into the path of another vehicle.

According to the statement released by officials, Emmanuel Martinez sustained unspecified injuries in the accident and died as a result. The driver of the car that hit Martinez was later identified by police as Connor Forsythe, who currently faces drunk driving related charges stemming from the accident. Police hope any eyewitnesses that have not yet come forward will do so in an effort to aid investigators in better understanding the nature of the accident.
