Harris County, TX — Three people were injured in two separate but related accidents that occurred in the morning on Tuesday, December 15 on the Katy Freeway.
According to police, the first accident was a single-vehicle accident that occurred in the westbound lanes of the frontage road on Katy Freeway, between Mason and Grand Parkway.
Apparently, while a police deputy and a tow truck were cleaning up the accident, a box truck came up behind them and struck both of them.
The deputy was trapped inside his vehicle. He and two other people involved were taken to a nearby hospital.
Police are investigating to find out if intoxication, driver fatigue, or speed were factors in this second accident. It isn’t clear what caused the first accident to occur, either. No identities have been released at this time.
