West Jordan, UT – A man and a 12-year-old girl were seriously injured after a two vehicle accident involving a semi-truck on December 12, 2015. The accident occurred around 10:00 AM.
According to reports, a semi-trailer was traveling north along Mountain View Corridor when the semi-truck collided at the intersection of 7800 South with a van that was traveling east along 7800 South. A 12-year-old girl, who was a passenger in the van, was ejected from the vehicle during the accident. The driver of the van had to be extricated from the vehicle.
The driver and the 12-year-old girl sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident. The driver was transported to Intermountain Medical Center for treatment of injuries. The girl was transported to Primary Children’s Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
A 10-year-old girl, who was also a passenger in the van, was treated and released at the scene.
The driver of the semi-truck was not reported injured in the accident.
The West Jordan Police Department are currently investigating the accident. However, they suspect the driver of the van may have run the red light at the intersection.
