Gray, Maine — 83-year-old John Watson was critically injured after he was involved in an 18-wheeler accident that occurred on Route 26A in Cumberland County.
According to authorities, Watson allegedly lost control after he hit a guardrail on 26A, causing him to veer into the opposite lane of traffic, where he crashed into the 18-wheeler. The 18-wheeler then ran over the top of Watson’s vehicle.
Police suspect that Watson suffered some sort of medical condition, which may have prompted the original loss of control, but they are still investigating. It does not appear that the driver of the 18-wheeler was injured in the accident.
