Southwest Bexar County, TX — Five people, including a Somerset police officer, were injured in a three-vehicle car accident that occurred near Benton City Road and Loop 1604 on December 8, around 11:30 a.m.
According to police, the accident occurred when the police officer, who was giving a courtesy ride to a man, made a u-turn on Benton City Road. As he did so, he was hit by a GMC Sierra pickup truck, which was occupied by four people.
The driver of the police vehicle was flown to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. The four people in the Sierra suffered serious injuries, and the passenger in the police vehicle suffered minor injuries. The identities of the victims will be released at a later date.
