Graham County, AZ — A 17-year-old male was seriously injured on November 29 when he was cleaning a gas tank at a residence on E. Corto Senda, and it caught fire, burning him.
According to the Graham County Sheriff’s office, the victim suffered burns to his face and forearms. Emergency responders arrived, but the teen was taken to the hospital in his uncle’s vehicle.
It isn’t clear how the accident happened, or if the teen was properly supervised in this procedure. One article stated that proper procedure cleaning a gas tank involves flushing with soap and water before using a nonflammable cleaner.
