Beaumont, TX — Ernest Mendez and five others were injured after an accident involving three 18-wheelers that occurred in eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near Major Drive.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety, apparently a semi-truck driven by Onofre Salinas slowed down for a construction site area, when that semi was rear-ended by a second semi-truck, driven by Robert Burton. A third semi-truck then swerved to avoid the first two trucks, which caused that driver to lose control and flip over on its side.
The driver of the third truck had five passengers, and he and all five passengers were taken to Christus Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth with minor injuries. Neither of the other two drivers was injured.
