Salt Lake City, UT – One person was injured after a car was struck by a TRAX train on November 12, 2015. The accident occurred around 8:00 PM.
According to reports, a vehicle was attempting to cross the train tracks at the intersection of 600 South and Main Street when the vehicle turned into the path of a TRAX train before being struck. It is unclear if the warning signals were activated and the guard rails down at the time of the accident.
An occupant in the vehicle sustained serious injuries as a result of the incident, and was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
No one else in the vehicle was reportedly injured in the accident.
The driver of the train was not reported injured in the accident.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Utah Transit Authority.
