Orla, TX — Two workers were injured in a gas plant fire that occurred in Orla, Texas on Thursday morning, December 3.
According to police, the accident occurred at a plant that was owned by Western Gas Partners and operated by Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. It isn’t clear how the fire occurred, but there were about 200 people at the plant at the time of the accident, and two apparently suffered minor injuries.
The fire was contained in one area of the plant, but it wasn’t clear what time the fire was put out. Police and OSHA will be investigating this accident.

Some more investigation will need to be done to find out what caused this accident to occur. While the companies involved here may both be following proper safety protocol, there have been past complaints against at least one of these companies for health issues that OSHA issued a fine for.
Again, maybe this situation is different, but the injured parties and their families deserve a thorough investigation to find out if this accident could have been prevented, and if so, the responsible company or companies need to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
