Wheatland, IN — About 20 miles from the Illinois border, there was an accident on Tuesday, October 13, that left a man from Washington with injuries. Police said that Fritz Pierre, 20 years old, was injured after his car was in a wreck with a semi-truck along U.S. 50 that morning.
This happened at about 7:00 a.m. that Tuesday, they said.
Pierre was driving his vehicle along U.S. 50, near the intersection with SR 550, when he tried to pass a box truck that was driving at slow speeds. As he did, however, his car swerved into oncoming traffic, where it was hit head-on by a semi-truck headed the opposite direction.
This caused a major wreck and Pierre was injured. Paramedics took him to a nearby hospital via ambulance, then airlifted to a separate Evansville facility. The news said that he had head injuries.
The truck driver was identified as Scott Busman, 53 years old, and it doesn’t look like he was harmed. Right now, the police said that they aren’t planning on filing any charges here.
