Jasper, TX – A teen riding his horse was injured after being hit by a truck Sunday, October 11, 2015. The incident occurred around 8:00 PM.
According to reports, Todd Lewis was riding his horse along Farm to Market Road 2800 on Sunday evening when the pair were stuck by a older Chevy truck, driven by Ty Alston Murray.
The rider sustained major injuries as a result of the crash. He was transported to Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Reportedly, the driver of the truck did not sustain any injuries.
The horse died after being struck by the pickup.
It is not clear if Lewis was riding alongside the edge of the highway or close to it. The accident is still under investigation.
